Your Privacy Choices

You're in control of your friendkeeper data. This page explains how to access, change, export, and delete your data, and how to control the ways it's used and shared.

Access & Edit Your Data

Your profile — name, email, address, birthday, and photo — can be edited at any time on your My Profile screen in the app. Friends, catch-ups, reminders, borrowings, and recommendations can be edited or removed directly from their detail screens.

Export Your Data

You can download a full copy of your data in JSON format at any time. Go to Settings > Export My Data. The export includes your profile, friends, catch-ups, borrowings, reminders, and recommendations.

Control How Your Data Is Shared

• Sharing your profile with saved contacts — on your My Profile screen, toggle Share with saved contacts. When off, other friendkeeper users who have you in their phonebook will no longer see your name, email, address, birthday, or profile photo. Turning it off also deletes your profile photo from our servers.
• Who can find you — go to Settings > Who can find me to choose between "Everyone with my number" and "Only people in my contacts".
• Sync contacts — go to Settings > Sync contacts to turn contact syncing on or off, or to limit it to selected contacts. When off, we stop matching you with friends from your phonebook.
• Shared borrowings — when logging a borrowing with a friend who also uses friendkeeper, you can untick "Share with [friend]" to keep the record private to your account.
• Block a user — if someone sends you unwanted love or recommendations, open the item and tap Block & report. Manage your block list in Settings > Blocked Users.

Control Notifications

Manage push notifications in Settings > Notifications in the app (master toggle plus per-type toggles for birthday reminders, friendiversary reminders, and contact joined alerts), or in iOS Settings > Notifications > friendkeeper.

Delete Your Account & Data

The fastest way to delete everything is in-app: Settings > Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, all server-side data, all locally stored data, your analytics identifier, and all scheduled notifications.
